Selene Orellana

Selene is passionate about harnessing the power of tourism to create a better world. With over ten years of experience in the tourism sector, she has explored its dynamics from professional, academic, and traveler perspectives in Ecuador and beyond.

She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Tourism and Hotel Management, as well as a Master’s degree in Sustainable Tourism Destinations and Planning, where she focused on alternative tourism as a force for good.

Currently, Selene works for the Planeterra Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to uplifting communities worldwide through tourism. In her role, she leads the organization’s communications efforts to amplify Planeterra’s mission and raise awareness about the transformative potential of community tourism.
