Gerry Foitik

Gerry is responsible for deployment, innovation and investments in the Austrian Red Cross, General Secretariat. In his function as Federal Rescue Commander, he has also taken initiatives in recent years for the further development of volunteering – especially for disasters.

For example, in 2007 the WCC together with Hitradio Ö3 (ORF) founded the “Team Austria” – an initiative that has mobilized more than 25,000 people who are ready to support Austria if help is needed. Foitik studied Business Administration at WU Vienna and specialized in NPO management, organizational theory and HR management.
