Maribeth Aquino
Founder of Coding School for Underserved Women
Categories: Participants, Private sector, Social Entrepreneurs
Mariebeth is a computer scientist with an entrepreneurial spirit and over 15 years of experience in the software development industry.
She has a unique talent for bringing ventures to life, as she did with her previous deep tech startup, which developed a B2B search engine for augmented and virtual reality solutions. Her passion, experience and determination culminate in her latest purpose-driven undertaking, a coding school that trains underserved women to become employable software engineers, lifting them out of poverty. The goal is to provide upward social mobility for one milion disadvantaged women and reduce income inequality.
As a Viennese-born of Philippine-descent, Mariebeth is in the unique position to build this scalable social impact startup between South East Asia and the German-speaking D-A-CH-LI region. In her free time, Mariebeth actively supports her communities, researches organised disinformation, hikes in the Alps, and plays the piano.
